Bushcraft at WILDE Adventure Summer Camp
Sharpen your focus, carve your own tools, and make something real with your own two hands.
Bushcraft is the art of being at home in the wild. You'll learn to use real tools the right way, turn rope and wood into useful gear, and build skills that come from doing, not watching. By the end of the day you'll have made something with your own hands and the confidence that comes with it.
A day on it
Out at Kimbercote, you'll trade screens for a knife, a length of cordage, and a piece of wood that's about to become something. An instructor shows you how to hold a tool safely, how to read the grain, how to slow down and pay attention. Then it's your turn. You'll carve, twist cordage from natural fibres, and figure out how to make the things a real woodsperson needs out in the bush.
It takes patience. It takes focus. Some of it is tricky on the first try, and that's the point. You earn this. When you finally hold up the thing you made, you'll know you did it for real, with your own hands and your own steady work. That's the kind of pride you carry home with you.

Safety, handled
- Trained instructors lead every bushcraft session and teach safe, age-appropriate tool handling before any tool is used.
- Campers work in small, closely supervised groups so each child gets hands-on guidance and attention.
- Tool use, carving, and skills are matched to each camper's age and readiness, with clear ground rules set before activities begin.
- Staff are trained in first aid, and all activities follow the camp's standard safety procedures.
What to bring
Closed-toe shoes, clothes that can get a little dirty, a refillable water bottle, and sunscreen. Everything else is provided.
