Bushcraft Badge at WILDE Adventure Summer Camp
Earn real outdoor skills with your own two hands — carving, cordage, and safe tool work.
The Bushcraft Badge is where you learn to make useful things from the wild — carving, cordage, and the hands-on skills people have used for generations. You earn it by practising real outdoor living craft, step by step, with instructors right beside you. Three levels take you from your first careful cut to confident, capable work.
Skills you’ll actually earn
- Safe knife & tool handling (age-appropriate)
- Carving useful tools and shapes
- Cordage making from natural fibres
- Fine motor control & steady hands
- Patience and real focus
- Responsibility & risk awareness

Put in the work
You earn the Bushcraft Badge by doing the real thing — not watching, doing. You'll practise foundational outdoor living skills: safe tool use for your age, carving, cordage making, and other hands-on bushcraft techniques, with an instructor working right alongside you at every step.
These are ancestral skills, and they ask something of you — patience, focus, and care. Stick with it and the payoff is huge: kids light up the moment they realize they can make a useful tool or a length of cord with their own hands. Move through all three levels to earn the full badge.
Level up, one rung at a time
- 1Level 1: First Cuts
- 2Level 2: Craft & Cordage
- 3Level 3: Bushcraft Builder
You walk in not knowing how to carve, and you walk out holding something real you made yourself. That feeling — "I made this" — sticks with you long after camp.
See you on the trail,
The WILDE crew
Real days, real grins
Safety, handled
- Strict tool safety protocols and supervision ratios guide every session.
- Carving happens inside clearly marked safety circles, so each camper has space to work.
- Skills are introduced progressively by age — younger campers start with the basics before any blade work.
- A first aid kit is on site, and trained instructors lead and supervise throughout.
